Friends, Neighbors, and Area Golf Enthusiasts,

I hope this message finds you well. As the owner of The Championship Golf Center (CGC) driving range business, I am reaching out to you with a critical matter that directly impacts the heart of Our Community – keeping the CGC as a viable entity.

Over the years the CGC has evolved into more than just a field at the edge of town to hit golf balls. Our Range has become an oasis in the hustle and bustle of rapidly growing South Friendswood, a gathering place for friends and family to spend time together around a central theme. It is a space that meshes with the adjacent Friendswood Sports Park to form a 40 acre green space for recreational activity that attracts people and families from the greater area.

There is a threat to this long-standing gem of Our Community. As the area surrounding Our Range continues to develop, the value of this property to unwanted development will climb and the pressure to transform it into a larger tax revenue stream may push the City of Friendswood into accepting zoning changes that could allow apartments or other types of commercial development (Super Wal-Mart) that do not mesh with the community as it is today. No one wants to see this beautiful area turned into a vast parking lot or a gated apartment complex. By taking control of Our future, we can ensure that Our Range remains largely a recreational green space without compromising safety or appeal.

We have an incredible opportunity to secure and add to Our Range, creating a fun destination for sporting enthusiasts with the addition of a unique 18 hole putting course and full-length practice holes to improve the golfing experience. Our plan also includes conforming retail spaces to create a complete atmosphere where people can come and play and stay and enjoy restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee spots, and more. All centered around making Our destination a hub for golf and softball enthusiasts and a gathering spot for friends and family to socialize.
